The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an all-india examination conducted in eight zones across the countly jointly by IISc and seven IITs on behalf of the National Coordinating Board (GATE), Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD), Government of India. Admission to post graduate programmes with MHRD and some other government scholarship/ aassistantship at engineering colleges/ institutes in the country are open to those who qualify through GATE.


The Joint Admission Test for M.Sc. (JAM) is an all-india examination conducted in eight zones across the countly jointly by IISc and seven IITs on behalf of Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD), Government of India. JAM is for admission to M.Sc. (Two year), Joint M.Sc. -Ph.D, Dual Degree and other post-bachelor degree programes at IISc and IITs.
